ACTIVIDAD 2.11.

One-point (or 'parallel') perspective

A one-point perspective allows us to show objects in a very similar way to how we see them when we look at them head-on.

Activities

Look at how this house has been drawn from a one-point perspective. Follow these steps to create a similar picture:

1. Draw in the horizon (LH) and identify the vanishing point (P).

2.Then draw a SEGMENT LINE. It will be the width of the house. Draw lines from each endpoint of the segment line, linking them to the vanishing point.

3 and 4. Using these new lines (the 'vanishing lines') as reference points, draw to mark the depth of the house.

5. Draw a rectangle in the foreground. It will be the front of thr house.

6. Draw vanishing lines from each corner to the vanishing point (P).

7. Trace vertical lines from the corners of the base to the previous vanising lines.

8 and 9. Add the triangles which form the roof of the house, continuing to use the vanishing point as your point of reference.

10. Add the details, erase the lines that you no longer need and colour in the final picture.
