Three-­dimensional modular networks

Three-dimensional modular networks are made up of a number of repeated three-dimensional modules.

They are used in architecture, sculpture, decoration and games, among other things. As in the picture, they can also be recreated on a flat area, using techniques to simulate volume.

Activities

Look at the first picture above, which is made up of square modules. It is a painting entitled "Vonal-Stri"   by a famous artist called Victor Vasarely, whose works are characterised by the combination of geometric shapes to create optical illusions, producing a sense of volume.

Make a Vaserely-style picture of your own. You can use different colours if you like.
