Types of images.
A sign is a type of image that communicates information in a way that is easily
understood. We are familiar with many signs, such as traffic signs, the Red Cross logo or the green cross of pharmacies. When we create a sign the most important thing is to make sure that it will be clearly understood.

A logo is more than images and words, a good logo tells a story about your company -who you are, what you do and what you stand for. That's a lot to ask of one piece of art, which is why it's important that you take the time to do it right. Fortunately, you don't have to do it alone.

Activities

Look at the sign above, which is for a chemistry lab. Imagine that there is going to be a new arts and crafts workshop at your school - a special classroom for this subject. Draw asign or a logo for this classroom, making sure that it will be easily understood byeverybody.

The steps below will take you through the process of designing a logo.
1: Brainstorming. 2 Create multiple designs.
3 Determine the primary function of your logo and decide whether to incorporate a name into the logo.

4Decide the colour scheme.

5 Be inspired by but don't copy successful logos.
