ACTIVIDAD 2.7.
Drawing a square and an octagon inside a circle
Follow these steps to draw a square and an octagon inside a circle:
- Use a set square to mark the diameter of the circle (1-2).
- Again using the set square, cut across the centre of 1-2 to mark another diameter (3-4) and form four quarter circles.
- Now use the set square to bisect each of the four quarter circles, drawing lines from circumference to circumference.
- Your circle is now divided into 8 sections. Join up the ends of each of the eight sections to form the 8 sides of the octagon, just inside the circumference of the circle. To draw the square, join up the ends of every other section, forming 4 sides instead of 8.
